
Teri Hatcher was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964, in Palo Alto California. Her mother Esther was an engineer at Lockheed Martin computer programmer, while her father Owen was an electrical engineer, nuclear physicist. She was educated by Esther. Teri was a ballet student at the San Juan School of Dance and was born in Sunnyvale, California. Fremont High School was where she was the Featherettes the dance captain. She also was recognized with the "Most likely to be the Solid Gold Dancer" award. After graduation, Hatcher studied engineering and mathematics at De Anza College and took acting classes at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri confessed that her uncle Richard Hayes Stone had sexually assaulted her starting at when she was just five. She also helped Santa Clara County prosecutors in their investigation into Stone following the 14-year-old victim of Stone's took her own life. Stone was convicted in prison for four counts, pleading in guilty pleas to molestation. In prison, he died from colon cancer.
